this is the way the world ends

*winter and me!
i hope to be done with the sequel this week.
i only have some final scenes to write. and i have
to say, writers always complain about how difficult
beginnings are. and they are. but for me, endings
are much more challenging. it’s the difference
between an initial impression and a lasting impression.
i think only the ending can [...]

that feeling

my desktop is littered with fotos from the
newbery banquet–which i hope to post soon.
but tonight, i have neither the energy nor focus.
i spent most of the weekend working on the
sequel, and i’m falling in love with it.
it feels exactly like when you start falling for another
person–you can’t stop thinking about him.

i failed to mention a few weeks back that
my lotus painting with the delicate dragonfly
(the one featured on my bookmark!) won the
third place ribbon at the fair this year. yay!
and here’s an anecdote to go with that winning.
all artists were invited to a reception to preview
