i turned in my brave little imperfect
sequel late sunday night. i don’t think
any novel can be perfect, tho editor and
author always strive for it. i believe in
writing novels i love and can stand by. you
have to–once it goes out to the big bad
world of readers. 8)

breaking the bad mojo

i’m back from my stupendous tremendous
visit to nyc! i can’t imagine having had a
better trip–except for more time to spend
with my friends and explore the city. but
considering how long i was there, i had a
very full and lovely visit.

i’m back from my weekend at ala chicago.
it was incredible. filled with so many unforgettable
firsts for this debut author! i came home pretty
much shattered as i was so excited and inspired
after the newbery banquet that i couldn’t sleep until
4am. the house is a mess! i have yet to unpack.

i failed to mention a few weeks back that
my lotus painting with the delicate dragonfly
(the one featured on my bookmark!) won the
third place ribbon at the fair this year. yay!
