a very full saturday

i had two events this past saturday.
the first was with the rolling readers at
the women’s head to toe expo at del mar
fairgrounds. when i originally signed up for
it, i thought it was a reading event. apparently,
it was the first time they decided to try and
do this book/author component with the expo,

i dream of guilin

my mom is making a trek back to her
village in the province of guangxi next spring–
her first time back since leaving china at age five
or so. she’s been back to china since, but never
to her home village.
guangxi is where the famous and gorgeous
guilin mountains are located, immortalized by
brush painters, then tourists and their fotographs.

it’s a beautiful day

i had an incredibly wonderful saturday this
past weekend, dear readers! as you may know,
it was the first time i’d give an official speech
at my old college, revelle at ucsd! on friday night,
i had a YA panel at the santee library with barrie
