a painting and a poem

i gift my brush painting teacher an amaryllis each
year. this year, i had chosen one that was a deep
rich crimson. this is my attempt at its portrait. =)
i used the same one and a half shuen paper i had
used for blobby cat with quasi-disastrous results.

it would appear that everything in my life
is happening All at Once. i’m eyeball deep
in first round of edits for The Sequel, which
will be released in early 2011! i’m very very
excited to be leaping back into the novel–which
i love–to be working with fantabulous editor
again to improve it. (nevermind when i first

i have been remiss! so busy with my mom visiting
before her month long trip to taiwan and china,
brainstorming, reading and writing for my sequel
(received my first round of global editorial notes
from fantabulous editor!)
as well as attending our annual art show reception
in balboa park. whew! what a crazy busy week.

art show!

all san diegans are cordially invited to the
chinese brush painting society’s art show.
i can’t believe it’s just next week–i’m very
excited, especially since i’ll be selling my cards
for the first time this year. they have been well
received and i hope people enjoy them!

last day in london

well, not actually the last day, but a hodge
podge of fotos. however, it IS the last post from
our december visit!!

i had the pleasure of meeting and having a lovely
lunch with sarah. she’s living my dream life, getting
a doctorate at cambridge AND also writing historical
fiction in the elizabethan era that i REALLY want to read.
