silver phoenix indonesian cover

indonesiacover

i’m very excited to share the indonesia
cover for Silver Phoenix! the publisher let me
know that my book went on sale last week
abroad! so exciting!

do you love the cover?
i think it’s gorgeous in a mysterious
quiet way. i was shown the cover before
the books went into print and i only had
two comments. one was suggesting the
chinese characters (they had stand ins
that actually said “chinese word”,
now it says “silver phoenix”)
and the fact that ai ling didn’t wear a single
braid–as she does throughout most of the novel.

both these changes were incorporated!
i think the dragon hints to the fantasy
elements, but the feel of it is definitely very
different from the american version.
of course, i love both covers! i couldn’t feel
more fortunate–the cover gods smile down
upon me.

*scurries to light more incense* =D

Wow. Just wow. I know I’ve said that I picked your book up solely because of the bright, dramatic cover, but this one works just as well. I would definitely want to read it.

    Whoa…Indonesian cover? Looks great.
I’m going to have to tell people about this back home.
Why is the title in English? is it not translated, then?
Congrats. that’s so cool. Please post on FB so i can pimp it. ;b

I think it’s a fantastic cover, and I’m always a sucker for the ’shrouding mist’ look. It must feel great to see your work going global. Congratulations.

Wow. That’s a really cool cover. The font, in particular, gives it a kind of Lemony Snicket vibe, I think (though who knows what kind of vibe it would give to an Indonesian? Well, an Indonesian, I guess).

I adore this cover! Although I think the dragon should have been a phoenix instead! But damn that’s a great looking dragon so it doesn’t matter. The cover is too beautiful!

I don’t know how, but they actually made a better cover, I think. The U.S. version is perfect. But this one is…more perfect? It’s just GORGEOUS. Congrats!!!!!!

And by the way…I had no idea that “phoenix” literally meant “bird under a table.” Or am I reading that wrong? I’m so rusty with these characters. Need to brush up.

Wow, Cindy, that is an absolutely beautiful cover. I have to agree that it is different from the US, and might not have been as attractive there…but I think it is gorgeous in its own way. I also think it is very representative of the book! I love it.
