Fifteen year old Callie just wants to impress the
popular girls when she buys a pair of Prada heels
on her class trip to London. She didn’t plan on tripping,
conking her head, and waking up in 1815! Now she’s
wearing corsets with her designer pumps, eating bizarre
soups, and breaking up engagements. If only the nineteen
year old Duke of Harksbury wasn’t so bloody annoying,
she might have a little fun in Austen-Era England…
About Mandy Hubbard
Mandy Hubbard grew up on a dairy farm outside Seattle,
where she refused to wear high heels until homecoming—
and hated them so much she didn’t wear another pair for
five years. A cowgirl at heart, she enjoys riding horses and
quads and singing horribly to the latest country tune. She’s
currently living happily ever after with her husband
(who, sadly, is not a Duke) and her daughter (who is
most definitely a princess). Prada and Prejudice is her first novel.
and the cindy interview!
1. Who is your literary character crush?
I know I am probably required to say Mr. Darcy, but I’m
going with John, one of the main characters in GOING
TOO FAR by Jennifer Echols. He’s a cop. What can I say?
Cops are hot.
2. Who is your author crush? (does not have to
be romantic!)
For obvious reasons, I kind of want to be Stephanie Meyer.
Excluding her, I’d have to say I want to meet Kat Martin,
who writes Regency romances. She inspired me to try my
hand at getting published.
3. what is your favorite pastry?
Brownies. MMMm. Also a close second: Strawberry
Shortcake. Battling for third: Melty chocolate chip
cookies. (can you tell I’ve thought about this?)
mmm! browines!!! =p~
4. what is the favorite scene from your novel?
The first time Callie tries to “play her part” in 1815,
during a dinner party, is pretty hilarious. Although
maybe its a bad sign if I think my own book is hilarious.
HMMM……..
i find humor to be one of the most difficult things
to write, so that’s great!!

Just the title and premise alone are making me snicker with delight :D. Tee hee.
I love the original Pride & Prejudice, but this sounds like Jane Austin turned contemporary romantic comedy. Awesomeness!
totally is super fun and cute!!!
I’ve been looking forward to Mandy’s book for a long time! Time travel…romance…humor…what more can a girl ask for? :-)
I’m anxiously waiting for my copy to arrive from Amazon.com . . . I’m falling so far behind on books I want to read I may never catch up!
