About Models Don’t Eat Chocolate Cookies
Thirteen-year-old Celeste Harris is no string bean, but comfy sweatpants and a daily chocolate cookie suit her just fine. Her under-the-radar lifestyle could have continued too, if her aunt hadn’t entered her in the HuskyPeach Modeling Challenge. To get out of it, she’s forced to launch Operation Skinny Celeste—because, after all, a thin girl can’t be a fat model! What Celeste never imagined was that losing weight would help her gain a backbone . . . or that all she needed to shine was a spotlight.
About Erin Dionne
Erin Dionne has lived on two coasts and in four states. Her debut novel, MODELS DON’T EAT CHOCOLATE COOKIES, was inspired by events that occurred in seventh grade, when she wore a scary peach bridesmaid dress in her cousin’s wedding and threw up on her gym teacher’s shoes (not at the same event). Although humiliating at the time, these experiences are working for her now.
Erin lives outside of Boston with her husband and daughter, and a very insistent dog named Grafton. She roots for the Red Sox, teaches English at an art college, and sometimes eats chocolate cookies.
and onto the cindy interview!
1. who is your literary character crush?
Ooooo…would have to be Marcus from SLOPPY FIRSTS by Megan McCafferty. LOVE him. [ooh! another book rec!]
2. who is your author crush? (does not have to
be romantic!)
Stephen King. I’ve met him twice and completely geeked out both times.
[wow, stephen king. IT was the first book i read of his
as a teen and i loved it.]
3. what is your favorite pastry?
I’m not a big pastry eater…do cupcakes count?!
[am i the only one that thinks cupcakes are a pastry.
i guess i think pastry = anything sweet and baked!! nom!]
4. what is the favorite scene from your novel?
Hmmm…to reveal would give something away. Let’s just say that Christian has a great line in it. [i'm intrigued!!]

I swear, I don’t think I’ve seen a bad book on this 09 Debs Blog Tour yet! Which is saying a lot since I’m a die-hard sci-fi reader. :) But I want to read this.
You’re keeping wonderful company, Cindy!
And I, too, am a big fan of the cupcake. Here in NYC I’m hopefully addicted to those confectionary delights coming out of Billy’s Bakery, and also Crumbs — two places serving what I consider the YUMMIEST cupcakes on this planet! (I was sorely disappointed by Magnolia’s offerings, tho)
david, thank you! and also thanks for the cupcake recs! i love recommendations!!!
This book looks so fun! And I also agree that cupcakes are a pastry. Pretty much anything with sugar that goes into the oven, falls into that category for me. Yum!
