li rong rendered

lirong

so exciting! philomela was kind enough to
do fan art of li rong, the charming funny younger
brother to chen yong! beautifully done, philomela!
and THANK YOU! i love fan art!

you can see more of philomela’s art
on her blog here. =D

i’ll be doing an ucsd alumni interview tomorrow
which i’m excited about, as i have such fond memories
of my time there. on thursday is my half hour podcast at
book bites for kids @ noon, pacific. i’ll tweet about it
on the day and do a count down. apparently, listeners
can call in? i’m not sure. ha!

still writing diligently on the sequel.
AND i got diamond plops. couldn’t be
happier that my story is slowly revealing itself
to me, one perfect facet at a time.

I’m so glad you like it :]
Li Rong was my favorite character. He always kind of reminded me of Li Xiaoyao (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5De1IqhgpFo) from Chinese Paladin. He’s the cute, goofy guy with the ponytail. (That was the music I sketched Li Rong to) :D

Woah, you’re a UCSD alumni too? What year? Which college?

Back to the post, that is amazing bit of art there. He looks like a really cool guy.

adam. i certainly most definitely am. 1995 revelle graduate. probably the only one who walked across stage with a sociology degree. the science and calculus reqs nearly killed me. i still have anxiety dreams about calculus. haha!

    you?

i overheard ucsd students talking in a la jolla cafe and she said she worked in the alumni office. totally introduced myself and pimped silver phoenix. ha! so now she’s interviewing me! i tried to get a response from the guardian editor–maybe i’ll try again in the fall. =D

    Here’s my review – (http://nijibug.dreamwidth.org/4581.html)

    tl;dr
Basically, I’d recommend the soundtrack but not the show itself. :]

philomela, thanks! it looked like it had its moments but maybe a bit cheesy? or are all soaps like that?

I graduated ‘99 from Warren (although I lived in Revelle my freshman year and got really familiar with it… it made me thankful that I skipped the Humanities requirement ;-). I almost tried for the tour guide job but chickened out at the last minute. I worked in the computer center of the bookstore instead.

What an awesome connection for your book, Cindy. If (I mean “when”, of course) I get published, I’m going to have to remember to be as outgoing :-)

adam, so we were only there overlapping one year? i went to london straight after and lived in sin with my love. =) and ironically, i went to revelle *only* for the humanities program.

i had friends in warren. =)

You look too young to have graduated in ‘95! This is blowing my mind…

As is that cute picture of Li Rong! Loved him in the book *sigh*!
