saturday mine

saturday mornings are all mine.
i take this time to meet with my
critique group, write, or go to the gym.
today, i went to the gym.
did cardio kickboxing for an hour,
and worked on strength by myself
for half an hour. burned 758 calories.
yay!

i haven’t been to my favorite taiwanese
eatery in ages. i shared a foto of their
seasoned popcorn chicken meal. below
is actually my absolute favorite from
the eatery–pickled ground pork. just
imagine a bolognese except without the
tomato sauce and lots of garlic and a
little sweet, a little sour chinese
pickles minced in. YUM!

barley black tea, a favorite when
i’m not feeling like a milky drink. with
boba and pudding! think flan but
a bit firmer–or a custard, slightly
sweet, cut in cubes.

i ate with lavinia as company,
enjoyed the quiet and solitude. i’m
definitely one who needs time alone–
as i suspect most writers do?

it’s the love’s birthday date night
tonight. a nice and lazy saturday. 8)
hope you’re having a great weekend!

Hey–you’ll have to direct us to the yummy Tawainese place. We’re always looking for new things.

YUM! Have fun tonight with your love, I’m off with my love to Malibu (again) for dinner…after spending the day by the pool (finally!) with a fabulous GF and her two adorable kids :)
And yes, your comment about solitude — I crave it…hence why I went upstate for 3 months (possibly stretching that to 4) … it provides a lot of alone time, sometimes I don’t see another human for 72 hours straight! (that’s when I start talking to the chipmunk, the hummingbird, etc etc…)

I want that! It looks awesome! But I’ll pass on the tea. I do not like tapioca pearls!

Check email – I have to share something with you!!!

I think you put up pics of boba just to antagonize me. It’s just not fair!

Mmm. Now I’m hungry. I’m amazed at all you do . . . when do you find time to write?

kiersten, i sent you an email!

julianne, wow, what a holiday you’re having!!

ell, i know some people who don’t like tapioca balls / boba either. the drinks are yummy tho, and you can get them without boba!

    natalie, haha! oh dear.

    amber, total bummer. =(

    LW, alas, i don’t cook–i just eat. =p~

joan, i’m in between revisions right now. so just reading and brainstorming this week. i’ll start on the sequel after i’m done with revising! my brain can only handle one major story at a time!

Yeah, I love cardio kickboxing but I haven’t gone in quiiiite a long while and I can tell – when I look in the mirror. I’m going to need to get back into it – soon.

The blogging conference was great but I did sneak away for a couple hours to myself. I was thinking . . . I wonder if all writers really prefer a little quiet time alone to regenerate then I popped over here and see – yep, I guess we do.

we love taiwanese–of course. i used to make pickled ground pork all the time (of course, prob nowhere near as good as your place’s or my mom’s). i love old travel photos. no traveling-with-little-ones stress!

That looks very tasty, Cindy! So it’s not that the pork itself is pickled, but that it is mixed with Chinese pickles. And crunchy, too? Getting hungry here…

Pickled eggplant finely chopped wit ground pork and spices…that would be very good I’d think.
