remembering vienna

the saturday night me me made
me all nostalgic. thank goodness for
digital cameras. the love and i went
in 2002 during christmas time.

i love visiting other countries, and
seeing how people live differently and
the same. i especially like outdoor
markets–crafts, antiques, cheese,
fruits, veggies, meats, art, wine,
everything! i also love store front
windows.

we stopped in a crowded cafe where
the viennese downed shots of espresso
and enjoyed desserts. (second to last
foto.) i remember having something
almondy there. 8)

why are the weekends so short?

I’ve never been to Vienna. Thanks for sharing the photos. I can visit vicariously through these little splices of life you’re showing us.

I would love to visit Vienna, someday, too. Maybe when I get around to my dream of traveling Europe (to visit my sister in Ireland and to stop at Spain, where some ancestors are from).

I’ve been intrigued by Vienna since I read Eva Ibbotson’s romances in college.

My husband spent one day in Vienna after a two year church mission in Romania. He is pretty sure it is the single greatest city in the world. And just think–international book tour, right? ; )

I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day in Vienna. Hot mulled wine in the streets, lit cathedrals . . . it was spectacular. I am nostalgic . . .

    And…..why did you leave!

My favorite is the one with the man in the brown coat and hat. I love them all though!

I was supposed to go to Vienna a few years ago, had flights and hotel booked and everything, but I got too busy with work and had to cancel. :(

    Glad you enjoyed it. :)
