it’s the love’s birthday today!
he got paged around 4 or 5am and
worked all morning. what a way
to start a birthday. i went to the mall
to get him a bday card which sweet
pea and munchkin can decorate, and
also a small box of see’s choccies.
also picked up a cold stone cookies
and creamery cake for him. we love
celebrating with ice cream cakes in
our family!
cookies and creamery is chocolate
cake with sweet cream ice cream
filled with broken oreos topped in
white frosting. YUM! the bubs will
love this–especially the blowing out
the candles part. =D
i’m also getting take out from our
favorite indian restaurant for dinner,
because the love loves a good indian
meal! oh, and i got him a green laser
from thinkgeek.com. the love is fascinated
by them, and it was the only redeeming
thing during a coldplay concert he had
to suffer through with me–the laser display.
haha! i don’t get it, but i think he’ll
love the pressie!
i finally got the chance to stop by the
apple store and admire the macbooks.
oooooh. aaaahhhh! so pretty. so fast.
i really love the matte screen and am
definitely leaning toward the macbook pro.
it’s a huge unnecessary splurge.
i know it. my little dell laptop has served
me well these past three years, so
it’s a case of i want rather than i need.
but i think i deserve this little
celebration and purchase! i’m looking
to buy photoshop for it. and will have
to try out scrivner to see how i like it.
as i’m very much used to word.
i’ll keep you posted when i actually
purchase. eee!
i watched heroes last night and it
was entertaining enough, but i don’t
care much about any of the characters.
the writing is subpar when i compare
it with mad men. i was disappointed with
heroes last season, and hope they
make a come back in season 3!
other than that, i have the dedication
and acknowledgment pages to work on.
the former is easy, the latter, not so much.
i can’t get over this feeling that i need
to acknowledge as many people as i can,
because it may be my only chance. (!!!)
nevermind the sequel contract i’ve got.
haha! it’s silly. i wonder if it’s common
in debut authors?
wish me luck!! happy tuesday!

birthday. 8) the famous labyrinth with the
minotaur is meant to have been underneath
this palace.

Hi!
ERm, can you bear with me here? What’s the difference between an acknowledgements and a dedication page? I thought they were one and the same? (Cool!!! She thinks, this gives me an extra page to say thank you to everyone!!) LOL
Happy bday to your main man!!
XO
dedication is very short at the beginning of the book. “i dedicate this book to my mom.”
ack page is usually in the back, about a page or two, thanking those who helped you in the journey to write and publish the book. also references you may have used.
Hey It’s me Sassy! Didn’t care much for Hero’s either. My husband made me watch it. He won’t be doing that anymore. (now he’s teasing me “yeah I chained you to the couch and refused to give you the key.” Tee Hee.) I like your blog! See you at AW when I can get on.:D
Happy b’day to your main squeeze. Lucky dog, See’s chocolates… love the lemon and key lime trufs, can’t get them east side.
My favorite daydream is ‘writing’ my acks in my head. The may be longer than the dang story. Peace, Linda
See’s is the best, well standing beside Godiva and Moonstruck. I guess that tells you something about me. ;-)
Good luck with the pages – what a great worry to struggle over – who to thank, It’s a Wonderful Life, when you have so many great people in your corner.
My daughter loves Heroes – I don’t think I’ve sat through an episode.
Good luck with your acknowledgment page, I know you’ll do great!
I’m excited to hear about your Mac purchase!
Enjoy Coldstones!! I heart Coldstones!
happy bday to ur love!!!
i dream about my ack and dedication page all the time.. hahah :)
i think about a mac sometimes too, but i love my sony vaio, and ive been a pc user for so long it’s hard to imagine a switch.
It’s okay to splurge on your mac—you deserve it. I already intend to buy a new mac if I get that oh-so-good news.
And See’s, yummy. My mom used to buy me a whole box of the dark chocolate raspberry truffles for my bday…she needs to do that again.
Thanks Cindy, I wondered about that.
I agree with you about Heroes. The first season was great! It used to end and my husband and I would groan that we’d never have to wait a whole week to find out what happens next. Last season, with the writer’s strike, it was terrible – a real so what season. This year so far was eh… OK at best. Hopefully it will turn around. Suresh is terrible and I could care less what happens to him. He is so stupid this season!
Happy Bday to the love! I wish I could dine with you . . .
I’m telling you . . . PAGES. This is what you want to write in. It is close to Word . . . but like, 10.000.000 times better. It is part of the iWork bundle. I can gush more about it if you want. ;-)
Happy Birthday to the hubby! And I would be all over indian food! I adore it!
Good luck with the ack pages – I’m sure you will do fine!
And I want that too! Go and get it! My niece loves hers and I have terribly envy over it. My little dell laptop is good for now too, but as soon as I have a reason, watch out Apple store, I’ll be running there!
what’s a me me? :D
Hope you had a fun and yummy bday celebration last night; hope your hubby was able to stay up for it :)
You definitely deserve the splurge! You are a BIG TIME writer now with 3, yes count them one, two, THREE books coming out in the next few years. Splurge Away!!!
jennifer, thanks for visiting and commenting! the first season of heroes was the best!
linda, thank you! i’m not sure what my favorite writer daydream is…will have to think about that one.
kim, thank you! see’s is not fancy, but they do taste good! i love the caramels!
thanks, nadine! i love cold stones too. it’s such a splurge, but ice cream cakes are the best!!
angelle, we’ll have to meet up soon, girl!! *hugs*
natalie, yum! my favorite is the scotchmallow. !!!
jkb, no worries! it’ll be your turn soon. ;*)
sheri, i agree! mohinder used to be cool. maybe he’ll turn into something awful–i like gifts coming at a price!i don’t like anyone on the show really except maybe hiro / ando (tho i’m tiring of that even) but i’ll always love HRG (noah bennet).
elise, ohno, another recommendation! haha!!
ello, thank you!!
maggie, a me me is from a few posts back–questions and answers all about yourself!
jill, yay! you’re right, celebrate! thank you!!
Sounds like a good birthday plan to me!
I want a Mac, too. My hubby always told me to get one and I ignored him . . . now I wish I had listened. *sigh* If you get one, post a picture so I can drool. *grin*
I keep meaning to watch Heroes but never do! Hope the acknowledgements page gets sorted!
